Job Description:
Michalski Nielsen Associates Limited has an immediate opening
for an experienced Terrestrial Ecologist/Botanist in our
Bracebridge, Ontario office. We are a small, specialized firm,
providing environmental consulting services for municipalities
and private sector clients throughout Central and Southern
Ontario. Our work often includes assessing the environmental
impacts of land use change. The successful candidate will
conduct field studies, prepare environmental impact assessments,
identify mitigation and compensation measures, write reports,
and manage projects. We offer an opportunity to pursue a career

candidate. Qualifications: The successful candidate will work
closely with other staff members to organize and carry-out
multi-disciplinary projects. Qualifications for the position
include:
• M.Sc. or B.Sc.
plus equivalent experience in Botany and Terrestrial Ecology
• A minimum five
years field experience in undertaking natural features
inventories, including vegetation community descriptions,
breeding bird surveys and species-at-risk assessments.
• Ecological Land
Classification Certification is required.
• Ontario Wetland
Evaluation an asset.
• Applied experience
in identification of grasses/sedges, wildflowers, shrubs and
trees of Ontario.
• Familiarity with
land use planning process in Ontario.
• Excellent
communication, writing and computer skills, including
proficiency with Geographic Information System software.
• Consulting
experience an asset.
